The Stoney Creek Recreation Centre is a one storey 24,000 square foot aquatic complex that includes a five-lane training pool, leisure pool, warming pool and water slide, locker rooms and change facilities, staff offices, and multipurpose rooms. The design demonstrates a contemporary approach that subtly engages with the surroundings and with the history of Stoney Creek. The centre includes energy efficiencies such as radiant in-floor heating and heat recovery, amongst other mechanical and electrical efficiencies.

“Aquicon maintained a cooperative attitude with the project team, City of Hamilton staff, and local residents. This lead to the successful completion of this project on schedule and within budget.”

Clark Euale, Project Manager, Public Works Dept., City of Hamilton

The Stoney Creek Recreation Centre was designed in association with RDH Architects and is the recipient of the 2013 City of Hamilton Urban Design and Architecture Award of Merit in Architecture.
