Aquicon served as Construction Manager for the expansion and renovation of the Carmen Corbasson Community Centre in Mississauga. Retained early in the design process, Aquicon provided pre-construction services that included design-assist, value engineering, and constructability reviews. This proactive involvement helped the City of Mississauga refine the project’s scope, schedule, and budget, while ensuring alignment with the City’s long-term goals for community revitalization, accessibility, and sustainability.

Renovations to the existing building modernized multi-purpose program spaces and public areas. Upgrades were made to the lobby and reception zones, gymnasium, arena viewing
areas, washrooms, and circulation corridors. All improvements were supported by enhanced finishes, millwork, lighting, and plumbing fixtures, alongside major mechanical and electrical system upgrades. Exterior work included landscaping enhancements and reconfigured site layouts designed to improve pedestrian safety, traffic circulation, and transit connections.

The project involved a 45,000 sf. addition and approximately 90,000 sf. of interior renovations. The new addition introduced a state-of-the-art aquatic centre featuring a six-lane, 25-metre lap pool and a warm-water therapeutic pool with expansive views of the surrounding woodlot. Complementing these aquatic amenities, the expansion also delivered a bright fitness centre, a dance and movement studio with wood-sprung flooring, and an elevated walking track that seamlessly connected to the existing facility. A new link structure created direct interior access to the Mississauga Seniors’ Centre, fostering intergenerational programming and enhanced community integration.
