JOB TITLE

DESCRIPTION

Construction Surveyor

Aquicon is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Surveyor to support the successful delivery of our projects through precise site measurement, layout, and verification. This role is critical to ensuring that construction work is executed in the correct location, at the correct elevation, and in accordance with the contract documents. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams in the field to establish control points, provide layout and staking, and confirm that work is progressing in line with design intent and project requirements.

Responsibilities:
The Construction Surveyor will be responsible for establishing horizontal and vertical reference points to guide excavation and construction activities, including the placement of walls, utilities, roads, and other key site elements. This individual will interpret engineered drawings, site plans, and 3D models to calculate and transfer accurate layout information to the field. The role also involves analyzing survey data to support earthwork calculations, including cut and fill quantities, and to assist the project team in monitoring progress and site conditions.

Using specialized equipment such as total stations, GPS rovers, and 3D scanning technology, the Construction Surveyor will collect and record precise geographic and positional data throughout the course of construction. They will also perform as-built surveys to verify that completed work conforms to the original design, applicable codes, and project specifications. Accuracy, consistency, and strong technical judgment are essential, as this role contributes directly to quality control and the prevention of costly errors or rework.

In addition to technical responsibilities, the Construction Surveyor will play an important role in maintaining safe and compliant operations on site. They will be expected to carry out their work in accordance with all health and safety requirements, while also considering environmental standards and site-specific constraints. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a dynamic construction environment, with the ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, superintendents, trades, and consultants.

Candidates with similar project experience on Ontario-based project sites will be given preference.

Interested candidates are encouraged to email their resumes to careers@aquicon.com.
