This project involved the construction of a new building that includes administration and office space, and a maintenance and storage area for the Niagara Falls transit buses. The facility has the capacity to store approximately 40 buses inside and 48 buses outside. The maintenance area consists of 7 service bays (6 with hydraulic hoists) and an inspection pit. Buses are fueled up and washed prior to maintenance or storage within the facility. This is a LEED® Silver Candidate.
The building structure is made up of concrete footing and foundation walls with a structural steel frame. Cladding consists of architectural pre-cast, metal sandwich panels, translucent panels , metal panels and aluminum curtain wall windows. The roof is a PVC membrane system. The Mechanical units are roof top and electrical rooms are housed within.
