Designed to meet LEED® Silver certification, Aquicon Construction undertook construction of this 23,000 square foot facility in the summer of 2013, built for the Investigations and Organized Crime Command Kawartha OPP detachment. The finished facility boasts unique features such as a state-of-the-art security system including camera and intercom systems, large multi-purpose board rooms with public access for community meetings, evidence vaults with an evidence processing area, fingerprint rooms, holding cells, and a secure compound to accommodate seized vehicles.
The fully steel structure is clad with stone and brick, and was designed and constructed to withstand a major earthquake. Due to the unusually long and cold winter, coordination with the sub-trades was pre-planned in order to minimize potential delays.
