In the fall of 2017 the Town of Caledon engaged Aquicon as Construction Manager to build their new Southfields Community Centre. Aquicon’s team worked closely with the Town and Design Team to ensure the building’s design was inline with the Town’s vision and overall budget for the project.
Designed and constructed to meet LEED Silver certification, the program components included a 65,000 sf. building comprising space for the Town of Caledon, Caledon Public Library, public agencies, and private service providers.
The new recreation centre includes several components including an aquatics facility with multiple pools, large gymnasium and fitness rooms, a 7,000 sf. library, community hub spaces for multiple hub partners, private day care spaces and an OPP community policing office. Hard and soft landscaping was carried out on the site’s exterior space which includes parking for 295 vehicles.
