The Grimsby Peach King Centre renovation and expansion transformed the existing arena complex into a modern, multi-use community hub through the partial renovation of the 70,000 sf. arena facility and the addition of approximately 55,000 sf. of new space. Delivered by Aquicon as Construction Manager, the project combined major new community programming with targeted upgrades to the existing building, including enhancements to dressing rooms, improved circulation, a reconfigured entrance, an expanded lobby, and a more functional overall site layout.

A key complexity of the project was the need to maintain safe, uninterrupted operation of the facility’s two active ice pads throughout construction. This required careful phasing, detailed site logistics, controlled public access, and close coordination of temporary conditions adjacent to ongoing arena and community use. Aquicon worked closely with the Town, user groups, and consultants to sequence the work around seasonal programming and ensure continuity of operations while construction advanced.

The expanded facility now includes a dividable double gymnasium with a second-floor indoor walking track, fitness centre and studio spaces, multi-use community rooms, a Youth Centre, and a Reflection Room. The completed project brings together recreation, wellness, and community programming within a substantially renewed facility designed to better serve the Town of Grimsby year-round.
