The newly constructed multi-use recreational facility is comprised of health, fitness and recreation (HFR) components as well as a double ice pad. The HFR includes an aquatic centre with a 25-metre pool, a warm water therapeutic pool, a wellness centre, a gymnasium, a walking/running track, program rooms, common shared spaces and a common lobby. The facility was designed and constructed to meet LEED® Silver accreditation.
Construction on the facility was undertaken under a Construction Management contract and the design development budget was reduced through value engineering and competitive tendering.
